This is a mentoring course for teachers and administrators. This self-paced course is designed to be completed in 4-5 weeks or less. PDPs are awarded by SSEC upon successful completion of the required assignments.

Course Goals

  • PREPARE qualified mentors to support novice teachers.
  • SUPPORT mentors and novices in having purposeful mentoring conversations aligned to standards
  • PROVIDE relevant professional learning that can be applied in the classroom.
  • INSPIRE novice teachers to lead their own development through mentoring conversations
  • RETAIN NOVICE TEACHERS IN OUR SCHOOLS

  • What are the topics for a year-long curriculum?
  • How does a mentor observe and provide feedback?
  • What do effective mentoring conversations look like in practice?
